Heather Lee and all the team at the Great National Ballyliskin Hotel and Golf Resort couldn’t have given us a more special day. We enjoyed our day from start to finish; everything went as smoothly as it possibly could. The food was amazing, and there were no long wait times. Our day wouldn’t have been as amazing as it was without the hotel staff, especially Heather Lee. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was done exactly as we wanted, and I can only give it a 5-star review. I wish I could give it more to simplify everything. It was perfect.

We had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our summer wedding on the 12th of July 2025 at the beautiful Ballykisteen Hotel in Tipperary — and what a day it was! Not only was it the most magical occasion, but it also happened to be the hottest day of the year. Despite the soaring temperatures, the entire team at Ballykisteen delivered an experience that was nothing short of exceptional. In preparing for it, the events and wedding manager Heather was amazing, helpful, informative and so fun to work with. We’d get married again just to work with her!

From the moment we arrived, the venue itself was breathtaking. The stunning surroundings, perfectly manicured grounds, and elegant interiors created the most picturesque setting for a summer wedding. The atmosphere was warm in every sense of the word — joyful, relaxed, and flawlessly organised.

The food deserves the highest praise. Every course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Serving a full wedding banquet to such an outstanding standard on the hottest day of the year is no small achievement, yet the kitchen team executed it perfectly. Guests are still talking about the quality, flavour, and generous portions — truly restaurant-quality dining at its finest.

What really made the day unforgettable, however, was the staff. Every single member of the team was professional, attentive, and incredibly friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. They handled the heat seamlessly, ensured guests were comfortable and well looked after, and kept the day flowing effortlessly from start to finish. Their calm efficiency and genuine warmth added so much to the overall experience.

Ballykisteen Hotel exceeded all expectations. If you are considering a wedding venue in Tipperary, look no further — this team knows exactly how to create a flawless, memorable, and truly special day.

Food was fabulous and staff were excellent and lovely to work with. I would highly recommend this hotel. Golf course is a super location for photos and the Ballyk unit room was beautifully designed and spacious for reception guests. Thanks again to the staff, you all were brilliant.

There will never be enough words to describe how appreciative we were and still are of Heather & the team at Ballykisteen. We are coming up on our 2 year wedding anniversary, and we still have our wedding guests talking about how fantastic the day was, and how genuinely kind the hotel staff were.

From the day we met Heather, we knew we were in great hands. We both just felt a sense of calmness and knew that she was as passionate about making our day special as we were. As two women getting married, it can be daunting dealing with wedding vendors and coordinators, but Heather got rid of any doubts we had and we were allowed to plan our day the way we wanted it. From start to finish, Heather was always right there with us making sure we were okay and executing our ideas.

I cannot recommend Ballykisteen enough, the stunning views of the golf course, the gorgeous bay window in their wedding hall, the rooms and the food – everything was 5 stars. All of that aside, the staff alone are what make this place so special. They are a credit to the hotel.

If I was lucky enough to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing.
